Meet Chef Shay
Hi, I’m Chef Shay Daye, and welcome to The Amazing Daye Experience, “Where your Entertainment and Eating Pleasures Lie.”
My love for cooking started in the most natural way, feeding the people I care about. I never planned to become a chef, but I was always the one cooking at gatherings with friends. In 2007, one of my friends asked me to cater her family reunion for 100 people. At first, I hesitated. I had never cooked for a crowd that size but I took a leap of faith. Everyone loved the food, and that moment sparked the beginning of The Amazing Daye Catering in Richmond, Virginia.
From 2007 to 2012, I poured myself into building my catering business. But I wanted to sharpen my craft and take things further, so I moved to North Carolina and attended The Art Institute of Raleigh–Durham. There, I became internationally trained, earning my Associate Degree in Culinary Arts and Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Management. While studying, I worked in restaurants, catered events, and started offering meal prep services, all while growing my love for hospitality.
After graduation, I stepped into leadership roles as a Food and Beverage Manager in hotels and restaurants. I learned how to run operations at a higher level, but my true passion was always creating experiences that bring people together.
In 2020, during the pandemic, my wife reminded me of that passion. She encouraged me to expand beyond catering and include event planning and other services. That’s when The Amazing Daye Experience was born, a one-stop shop for unforgettable moments. From catering to bartending, photography, videography, DJs, and even helping clients secure the perfect venue, we handle it all.
Today, I don’t just provide food. I provide memories. My mission is to deliver an experience that delights every sense, every time. Because when you book with me, you’re not just booking a service. You’re stepping into The Amazing Daye Experience, where your entertainment and eating pleasures truly lie.
